Things took a turn for the bad when Fiona had to travel to her home country of Ireland for medical reasons.  Heart broken to leave George behind, she simply didn't have the funds to bring George along so she left him with trusted neighbors.

Fiona focused on getting better with peace in her heart knowing that George was being cared for; however, Fiona soon found out that wasn't the case.

It's unclear how George became lost, but he was found 12 miles away from the only neighborhood he had ever known.

Thanks to a microchip, the shelter that picked George up was able to contact Fiona...unfortunately Fiona, though devastated, could still not afford to bring George home.

Thankfully, Fiona's friends were able to think quick and start a go fund me to bring George home.

The funds were raised quickly so the shelter was able to hold George until it was time to send him home.

Fiona and George were both overjoyed that they were finally together again.

The bond between pet and owner is closely related to that of parent and child; seeing this beautiful reunion is very heart warming.
